Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Kindgrain Studios, transparency and compliance are central to how we work. As a New York City licensed Home Improvement Contractor (HIC # 2130633-DCWP), our refund and cancellation practices follow all requirements of the NYC Administrative Code §20-393 and related Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) regulations.
Cancellations
Clients may cancel any home-improvement contract within three (3) business days of signing, without penalty or obligation, as required under NYC HIC law. Written notice of cancellation must be delivered or postmarked within that period.
Refunds
If you cancel within this three-day window, any payments made will be refunded in full within ten (10) business days of receiving your notice. After that period, refunds are handled according to the specific terms in your signed agreement and the stage of work or materials purchased.
Deposits & Progress Payments
Per NYC HIC rules, deposits generally do not exceed 25 percent of the total contract amount and are applied solely to your project. All payments are treated as trust funds until the work is substantially complete.
